With Softek's fiscal tax solutions, your business will have devices authorized by the Treasury Department to capture and transmit Sales and Use Tax (SUT) data and generate the tax control number required by the Puerto Rico Department of Treasury.
Softek's Fiscal Network is an independent and unique mechanism designed to automate the capture and transmission of fiscal data to the Government of Puerto Rico. It is used to register, communicate and periodically audit transactions that take place in all point of sale businesses in Puerto Rico.
Through our fiscal solutions, sales transactions (cash, checks and cards) are automatically captured and transmitted to the Puerto Rico Department of Treasury.

Know the Treasury requirements
Softek's team is the merchants' ally. In addition to providing fiscal tax solutions, we share important information about the requirements that the Department of Treasury demands from merchants to capture and transmit IVU data, and generate the tax control number.
- A merchant must have devices authorized by the Puerto Rico Department of Treasury to capture and transmit IVU data and generate the tax control number.
- If the merchant has an aggregate sales volume of and/or exceeding $125,000 annually, it is required to install and maintain a fiscal solution.
- If the merchant has an aggregate sales volume exceeding $1 million per year, it is required to have a fiscal solution integrated into the cash register.
- Merchants that sell prepared foods, that generate an aggregate annual sales volume exceeding $125,000 annually and that meet the requirements established by the Department of Treasury, may charge a reduced IVU rate of 7% instead of 11.5%.
- If a merchant fails to comply with its obligations with the Department of Treasury to capture and transmit IVU data, and generate the tax control number, it could receive a violation of $20,000 or more.
